In 1978 I confess I played in a dreadful hippy band called Amber Laize in New Zealand. We lost the Battle of the bands competition in Auckland to The Dudes.

DAVE STOREY the other guitarist in our band used to build and play his own guitars and even inlaid the bodies with little match sticks that looked like mother of pearl from a distance. We used to take the piss big time and tell him to go buy a proper guitar.

Years later I met him again at an Earls Court music fair in London promoting KAHLER SELF LOCKING TREMELO ARMS.
He only co/invented the bloody thing didn’t he!

So far to date I believe KAHLER have sold in excess of 300 million units. Bless him.

Dave even found time to send his old mate a freebee from LA. Thanks a million Dave!

A buddy has just taken pity on me and let me borrow his treasured Maton acoustic/electric, so I can feel a busy night in the studio coming on.

Feel free to contribute with any anecdotes or memorable experiences you may have had of those heady days in the early 80′s. Old bands, where are they now etc….we can’t remember everything!

Promo Launch

April 22nd, 2010

During the next few wks we will be sending out promo packs to select individuals and companies for the official launch of the new PKG 30th Anniversary CD. The pack obviously includes the CD and will be accompanied by a 10 pages booklet giving a detailed history of the origins of the songs and a glimpse into the Auckland music scene circa 1980.

Press Release

April 13th, 2010

We’re now working on some promo/press release material for the new ‘A Stab In The Dark’ CD. The roughs I’ve seen so far from the designers look fab….a real trip down memory lane. Seems like it might involve a 10 page CD size booklet to accompany the disc.
